Hand-carved, hollowed tree log, fabric, crystals, handles, acrylic. Titled "Simpuvium" which is the ancient Roman word for sacrificial bowl, which was used in ancient temple rituals to collect the blood of sacrificed animals, before this ritual was replaced by the Christian Mass. This piece represents the female as a sacred sacrificial vessel which brings life into the World/Temple...life brought in as opposed to death.
